WORK/ECOMMERCE · PLATFORM MIGRATION

Zcratch

A German consumer brand moved onto Shopify across two language storefronts, with local compliance in place and the design handed back to the client to change themselves.

01 · CONTEXT

Zcratch sells a UV repair kit that makes screen scratches disappear on phones, tablets and watches. It is a Made in Germany consumer product with an established customer base, a five star rating built over a hundred reviews, and a storefront that was already converting.

02 · THE PROBLEM

The business needed to move onto Shopify without losing any of that. The catalogue was split across two language storefronts, the German market carries its own legal requirements for online retail, and the owner wanted to keep making design changes himself afterwards rather than coming back to a developer for every tweak.

03 · WHAT WE BUILT

01
The full store migration.Catalogue, content, blog and guide pages moved onto Shopify across both the German and English storefronts, with the cross-links between them preserved so a visitor can switch language from any page.
02
A catalogue restructure forced by the platform.Shopify caps products at three option types and the existing catalogue used four. Rather than flattening the range and losing the way customers actually choose, we mapped the options against real buying behaviour and restructured the catalogue to fit the constraint without changing what the customer sees.
03
German ecommerce compliance.Impressum, AGB, Widerrufsbelehrung with its withdrawal form, privacy and cookie policies, and a flat 19 percent VAT treatment. Seven payment methods live, covering the ones German buyers actually use.
04
Handing the controls back.We connected Lovable to the store so the owner can make design changes by describing them, rather than filing a ticket and waiting. The store itself was transferred into his own Shopify account at the end.

04 · WHAT HELD

The store came out the other side with its reviews, its rating and its conversion path intact, which is the only outcome that matters in a migration. And the owner left holding the keys: his Shopify account, his Lovable connection, and the ability to change the front end without calling us.
